Luxury Rental:
The Cottage at the Governor's Retreat
Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania
Perched on five acres, beside crystal clear Dingmans
Creek in Northeastern Pennsylvania, the turn-of-the century Governor’s
Retreat is a cozy and tranquil hideaway. Built in 1906 by Pennsylvania
governor William Sproul, both the main house and the cottage proudly
showcase the Arts & Crafts movement, their construction highlighted
by Colonial mason techniques and local materials. Colonial style elements,
including the architectural keystone above the windows and doors, meet
the Arts & Crafts aesthetic.
The property has been featured
in national consumer magazines. Country Living, Better
Homes and Gardens, Good Housekeeping, and Wood
Beautiful. Hallmark Cards selected it as a location
for their 2005 Christmas card line.
Inspired by the reception of these creative teams
that produced the above projects, the property is also available
as a location for print, television and film production.
