The Governor's Retreat has been featured in multiple prestigious consumer publications. The January 2000 Country Living featured the main house on the cover and included a six page editorial layout featuring the front of the house, living room, dining room, guest bedroom and outdoor hearth.

In the spring of 2002, Wood Beautiful featured the living room in the cottage. In October 2002 the cottage was featured on the cover of Better Homes and Gardens and in eight editorial pages. The December issue of Good Housekeeping featured both the main house and the cottage in their holiday issue. There were four pages of editorial coverage in that spread.

In February 2003 Hallmark Cards used the location to create images for their line of Chritmas cards for 2005.
